14.30 – 15.00 Keynote speech: A European innovation vision

A high-level representative from the European Commission will highlight the regional deployment of the EU innovation and entrepreneurship policies. What are the innovation priorities in the coming years within Horizon Europe and how the European Green Deal and the Just Transition Fund are going to impact the EU|BICs and regional actors?

  10.00 – 11.00  Panel discussion – Internationalisation and scaling up startups: best practice

One of the key service EU|BICs offer to stablished startups and scaleups is their connections to international markets. In today’s digital world, with access to cutting edge technology, it is more important than ever the role of EU|BICs in connecting with other regional actors. Regional entrepreneurs can utilise their global mindset while rooted in their local ecosystem. What are the channels and tools that regional entrepreneurs have at their disposal to support innovation and economic growth in Europe? Let’s discover what EBN and the members are doing.

Based in an informal chat with Jean-David Malo, Director at the EIC Task Force, Javier Echarri, EBN CEO, will discover to the audience the steps forward from the European Innovation Council to support regional entrepreneurship.

 15.30 – 16.15 Panel Discussion: From regional support to European Innovation

This panel will discuss the relationship between the regions and the support they can give to a European Innovation landscape.

The cooperation and collaboration between regions are essential to generate a great impact on Europe’s progress. EBN and its member have been doing this since the beginning, how this collaboration between regions is impacting Europe’s innovation ecosystems, how this cooperation has encouraged entrepreneurs to foster their business and what are the plans at EU level to foster this, will be some of the points to be tackle in this session.

   11.30 – 12.15 Interactive Session – Business creation and growth: innovative models of business support

The certification of EU|BICs is the raison d’être of EBN, after 35 years of existence the certification process has been evolving with the appearance of new trends and technologies. How is this impacting the regional ecosystems? How EU|BICs are becoming more performant and therefore contributing to a growing European Innovation Ecosystem? Those will be some of the key discussion elements during this session.

The participants will uncover the results of the 2020 Impact and Activity report, few facts and data that will show why EU|BICs are trustable actors in the regional ecosystems when supporting entrepreneurship.

16.45 – 17.30 Pitching: Energising the European Green Deal: EU|BICs as enablers at regional level

The new European Commission has the ambition to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, to achieve this ambitious goal, there are a set of measures that should allow European citizens, entrepreneurs, businesses and support organisations to go through a more sustainable transition.

This session will pitch some of the current initiatives in which EBN and the members are involved in other to reach the ambition of a European Green Deal.
